As a Pharmacist (Part-time) you will be responsible for supporting overall pharmacy operations in an exciting environment that includes both retail and mail-order fulfillment. You will provide consultation to customers, practitioners, practicing to the full scope of professional services, dispensing medication and assisting in pharmacy maintenance. You will help develop a streamlined approach to operations including adoption of automation systems and tools.
You are passionate about providing a great customer experience and eager to collaborate with others on emerging projects. This role may expand into a full time opportunity in the future.
What Will You be Doing:
- Engage with customers in the pharmacy, offer assistance, build relationships and identify opportunities to provide value
- Practice within Federal, Provincial & Legal regulations, holding and maintaining all required licences
- Maintain privacy requirements
- Provide counselling on prescriptions, OTC & behind the counter products and all health related issues, including but not limited to indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage
- Practice to full extent of expanded scope with Professional Services, within your capability
- Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed
- Communicate with other health care professionals as required to provide the highest level of customer experience
- Maintain records as required in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and policy
- Ensure all requirements for documentation and control of substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Regulations are met and reporting to Health Canada and regulatory bodies as necessary is completed
- Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of all inventory including those that require special handling and training, these could include but are not limited to vaccines, serums, biological and other drugs and pharmaceuticals
- Support implementation of operational best practices including automation equipment
- Provide regulatory guidance as required
In order to be successful, you bring:
- Valid license to practice in British Columbia (multiple provincial licenses preferred)
- Proven ability to develop deep relationships with customers and identify opportunities to increase adoption
- Experience supporting mail order fulfillment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Strong problem-solving skills including identifying opportunities to drive efficiency or increase sales
- Knowledge of pharmacy systems
- Knowledge of Canadian pharmacy regulations
- Knowledge of public & private insurance protocol and systems
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations & an ability to create and maintain a safe working climate
